Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras S.A. is an airline founded and approved in 2008 by David Neeleman. It is the third largest airline in Brazil in number of passengers, the second largest in aircraft fleet and the largest in number of destinations offered, operating at 98 airports in Brazil and 8 international.

Its main operations centers are the airports of Viracopos, Confins and Recife. The company’s administrative headquarters is in the Alphaville neighborhood, in the Greater São Paulo region.
Its fleet consists of ATR-72 aircraft, Embraer E-Jets (only operator in Brazil) and, recently, the Airbus A320neo. It uses the Airbus A330 on long and international routes.

The airline launched its first flights in late 2008 with flights between Campinas, Salvador and Porto Alegre. In the years following, the airline continued to grow out its domestic route network and rapidly expanded it in 2012 when it acquired the largest regional airline at that time, TRIP Linhas Aéreas. In 2014, it launched its first international services, with regular intercontinental flights flying to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
